UNTHA UK released a new two-shaft shredder-ZR. Moreover, after 24 months of rigorous industry research and development (including prototype testing on the African continent), this twin-shaft machine is now expected to achieve the lowest life cycle cost (LCC) of waste, wood and metal crushing in its class.

The high-performance ZR is designed for multi-shift, continuous pre-shredding-even when dealing with difficult materials that some people consider economically "not shredded".

The machine's low-speed, high-torque drive means that it can easily handle heavy-duty applications, thereby achieving a high level of plant availability. The modular, quickly replaceable cutting table design is centered on versatility.

ZR2400H is specially designed for high throughput and coarse crushing of bulky waste, industrial and commercial waste, waste wood, municipal household waste, mattresses, carpets, railway sleepers, bales and coils. As a static or mobile machine with tracks, the model's goal is volume reduction (90% <300 mm), material decomposition for further processing, and alternative fuel production. Therefore, the cutting system is very suitable for cement plants, operators in the biomass and energy recovery industries, MRF, sorting and waste treatment companies.

ZR2400W is the perfect metal scrap shredder, which also performs well in processing WEEE and large household appliances. Likewise, the goal is to achieve rough material decomposition (90% <300 mm) for downstream sorting, making it an ideal machine for metal processors, recyclers, and aluminum and metal manufacturers.

The independent bidirectional axis rotation of the ZR means that the powerful cutter can grab, cut and release material forward and backward, thereby achieving a machine action that is always shredding.

No matter which cutting mechanism the customer prefers, ZR is equipped with UNTHA Eco Power Drive with a water-cooled synchronous motor-an energy-saving concept that is world-renowned for its ability to reduce energy consumption by up to 75%.

"With ZR, we are talking about a reliable power unit that can be worth the money!" Sales Director Peter Streinik commented. "Like all of our paper shredders, this innovation aims to achieve long service intervals, easy maintenance, safe operation, and long uptime. But what really sets it apart from its peers is its low cost Handling difficult materials.

"We believe this will open up a whole new world of crushing possibilities."

ZR has powerful performance and saves intelligence. It will be equipped with UNTHA GENIUS-condition monitoring system, so that operators can access the performance data of their paper shredders in real time from any device.

Using multiple intuitive sensors built into the shredder, up to 100 process values can be analyzed, including speed, torque, engine temperature, and conveyor power. The goal of this intuitive cloud-based technology is to provide easy access to important metrics, enabling customers to optimize machine availability while minimizing downtime and operating costs.

Schaufler processing and process development supervisor Hubert A. Schwarz commented on his 12-month trial of ZR prototypes during the machine development phase: “The most important advantage of ZR is its versatility-the device can crush large, rough NF metals and composite materials; fast, simple and efficient cleaning and maintenance; and low energy consumption-compared with other manufacturers, after using ZR, we can save 70,000 euros in energy costs per year!"

ZR trials are currently being offered throughout Europe, and customers are invited to try out the new two-axis machine using their own materials.

To celebrate the debut of this new technology in the UK, UNTHA will also host a paper shredder exhibition in Lancashire on October 13, 14 and 19. Known as the largest event in the company's history, it is expected to provide an unparalleled opportunity for the country's cutting-edge waste and recycling professionals to understand what UNTHA machines can really do.

"Seeing is believing," commented Marcus Brew, managing director of UNTHA UK. "Therefore, we invite guests to enjoy the live demonstration of the high-torque driven UNTHA XR3000RC and XR3000C. At the same time, they are also the first people in the country to see the new two-axis UNTHA ZR2400 in operation! Specially launched for handling heavy materials, don't miss it!

"Our paper shredder will handle a range of applications, including metal, white household appliances, wood, bulky waste, etc.! In addition, there will be the opportunity to ask our on-site paper shredders your questions on the same day—regardless of the technical nature of the inquiry how."

"That's not all," Marcus continued. "We will also use our world-renowned RS four-axis shredding technology on site, as well as the new PS1300 pallet shredder, the high-throughput LRK plastic shredder and the most compact machine in our series-S25. We will work with customers To build a real-time business case for the demonstrated technology, our after-sales team will also be present to discuss the optimization of these shredders until a long time in the future."
